This work focused on the fabric, different materials and the weaving process. The aim was to realise a weave in an artistic experimental way on the Gobelin – loom. The experience of hand weaving, knotting, cutting, patch working, combining, and deciding the order of the materials and the rhythm of the process was the challenge. The result is a patchwork fabric, made of a variety of different materials and textures. Animals, such as Birds, build their nests out of various virgin materials. Similar to this process, the artist wanted to form a structure with diverse surfaces.

     The confrontation with awareness, fear, and shelter formed the fabric in a conceptive way. Our consumerist world, in particular the textile sector, creates extreme problems at the expense of human's and nature's wellbeing. The weaving process is a form of meditation and opens space to create awareness for the material. Working with the colour black and their shades is a challenge for the eyes, but there you find a lot more tones than you expect.
